Pärn's “KILPLASED” prints
Renowned Estonian animation director Priit Pärn created this series of 14 illustrations for KILPLASED (GOTHAMITES), a book about a village and the comical people who live there. He adopted Pieter Breugel's drawing style for the genre scenes that connect actions across multiple illustrations. Numerous motifs unfold simultaneously to give glimpses of fragments from the story and bring to mind Pärn’s animation films.

This exhibition features the complete set of KILPLASED giclee prints, which are also offered for sale.

“KILPLASED (GOTHAMITES)”
There are similar stories in different European countries, it is kind of village or town of idiots.
Estonian writer F. R. Kreutzwald  wrote this story what he actually borrow from Germany in 1857. In 1962 Estonian children writer Eno Raud rewrite this story making it shorter and using more modern language.
In 1974 Estonian filmmaker Rein Raamat made drawing film called KILPLASED and Priit Pärn made for this film character design. In 1977 Priit made with the same characters comic book KILPLASED.
In 2016 Priit illustrated a new edition of ENO Raud KILPLASED book. Priit come to style of Peter Breugel and he also build up the system, where some actions is going on throw all the book. A dog attacking a man. A man with hen. Two men and a ledder. A wolfs and the horse.
It is a hand drawing on the paper. Then they scan all images and all next steps they did in Photoshop. Priit's wife, Olga was helping on technical jobs and all graffitis on the walls of houses was drawn by their son, Märt Rudolf.

Priit Pärn（Estonia)
born 1946 in Tallinn, graduated from the Department of Biology of University of Tartu in 1970 .

He has been active as a caricaturist and illustrator since the end of the 1960's and has done more and more work as a freelance graphic artist since the early 1980's. Over the past 25 years Pärn has had over 35 solo exhibitions in various European countries.

From 1976 to 1994 he worked as an art director and animated film director at the Joonisfilm animated film department of Tallinnfilm Studios and from 1994 at Eesti Joonisfilm Studio. Priit Pärn has made 13 animated films of duration up to 45 minutes as well as a host of short films, commercials, etc., for which he received more than 80 prizes in international festivals. He also received the „ASIFA Life Achievement Award“ in 2002 and 5 another life time achievements awards from different countries.

Pärn has been a jury member on more than 50 internationals film festivals and had about the same number of retrospectives in different places of the world.

Pärn has also worked as a teacher over the past 28 years. He has taught at film schools and had workshops in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Holland, France, England, Turkey, Australia, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, China and Japan. In 1994 Pärn founded the Animation studies in Turku and was artistic director of Animation Department of the Turku Art Academy in Finland until 2007. In 2006 Pärn established animation studies in Estonian Academy of Arts. He is currently working as animation professor in EAA.

From 2008 Pärn is a member of European Film Academy.

ORDINARY DRAWINGS FROM Theodore Ushev OF LIPSETT DIARIES

We hold the original drawings by Teodore Ushev, a director from Bulgaria and Canada who has won various awards such as Academy Award nomination and Genie prize and is active in the world.

Drawing animation "Lipsett Diaries" is a work that attempted to reproduce the lost diary of Canadian legendary film artist Arthur Lipsett who was passt away at 49 years old. Draw the writer's inner face towards destruction with intense brush and calm gaze and present skepticism to existence.
We will exhibit and sell original drawings of "Lipsett Diaries" and image sketches of "Physics of Sadness" currently under construction.
